Location: Kyoto City
Material: White bamboo
Technique: Straight split processing
An example of straight split bamboo being used for fittings.
Straight split bamboo is a processing method in which both sides of the bamboo are shaved off to reveal the inside,
and is characterized by irregular joints and a light impression.
Because it is hollow inside, when used as fittings or partitions,
it is possible to gently divide the space without completely blocking it off.
In addition, beautiful shadows appear when illuminated by sunlight or lighting.
